Curtin University, Perth, WA, Australia

About this program

Curtin University's Graduate Certificate in Geospatial Intelligence degree. This course introduces the core skills and techniques required to process and analyse location-based data and remotely sensed imagery collected through space and time. Students are exposed to the principles and applications of geographic information systems and remote sensing with a focus on their practical usage to a range of different disciplines including environment, agriculture, mining, defence and urban planning. It assumes little to no prior knowledge in the field and is suitable for “up-skillers” seeking the ability to capture, process, and add meaning to location-based data. This course is available on-campus and by distance education (via online learning) to Australian and International students. Which careers in Engineering lead to skilled migration depends on the occupation, not the degree title. See the skilled occupation lists guide for which occupations are on each list, and the points calculator to check where you stand.

Admissions

Applicants require a recognised Bachelor Degree in any discipline. Alternatively, applicants with more than three years’ demonstrable experience working in the fields of GIS or remote sensing may be considered for entry into the Graduate Certificate. Having a background providing you with mathematical, statistical and programming skills will be helpful but is not considered essential. Applicants for a Graduate Certificate are required to meet University academic and English language entry standards; Applicants generally require a Bachelor Degree or equivalent credit gained for recognised learning.
