Doctor of Education

La Trobe University, Melbourne, VIC, Australia

About this program

La Trobe's Doctor of Education is a professional doctorate that combines coursework with an original research project, aimed at experienced practitioners who want to make an intensive investigation into their own professional field. Four 15-credit-point research training subjects build research skills before candidates move into a supervised project.

The project culminates in a thesis of approximately 60,000 words, examined by external examiners, and is expected to make a genuine contribution to professional practice in education rather than purely theoretical knowledge.
