Bachelor of Artificial Intelligence

Monash University, Melbourne, VIC, Australia

About this program

Monash's Bachelor of Artificial Intelligence is a hands-on degree built around ethical, responsible and secure AI practice, teaching students to work with AI from ideation through to a built and tested solution addressing a real problem, rather than only the theoretical mathematics behind machine learning. Students choose between an applied artificial intelligence specialisation or one focused on AI algorithms and models, letting the degree lean toward practical AI product development or deeper technical algorithm design depending on career interests. Professional practice units and work-integrated learning opportunities including placements and internships run throughout the course, so graduates leave with a portfolio demonstrating genuine AI development experience rather than only coursework. It suits students who want a dedicated AI degree rather than studying AI as one specialisation within a broader computer science degree, positioning graduates for roles building and deploying AI systems responsibly across industry. Entry requires an ATAR of around 80 at Clayton, along with Mathematical Methods, Specialist Mathematics or General Mathematics.
