Bachelor of Cybersecurity

Monash University, Melbourne, VIC, Australia

About this program

Monash's Bachelor of Cybersecurity trains students to protect digital systems, technology and data against new and emerging cyberthreats, building the technical expertise to identify threats, assess risks and design secure solutions from the ground up. Embedded professional practice units and work-integrated learning opportunities including placements run throughout the degree, so graduates build a genuine portfolio demonstrating practical cybersecurity skills rather than only theoretical knowledge of security concepts. As a dedicated cybersecurity degree rather than a specialisation within a broader computer science or IT program, it gives students more concentrated technical depth in security-specific skills from the start of their studies. It suits students who've already decided cybersecurity is their career direction, positioning graduates for roles as security analysts, penetration testers, security engineers or risk assessors across an industry facing constantly evolving digital threats. Entry requires an ATAR of around 80 at Clayton, along with Mathematical Methods, Specialist Mathematics or General Mathematics.
