Bachelor of Education (Honours) in Primary and Secondary Health and Physical Education
Monash University, Melbourne, VIC, Australia
About this program
Monash's Bachelor of Education (Honours) in Primary and Secondary Health and Physical Education trains school leavers to teach health and physical education specifically, across both primary and secondary school settings, one of seven specialisations under Monash's Bachelor of Education. The dual-sector structure gives graduates the flexibility to teach PE and health education to children of any age from primary through to secondary school, rather than being restricted to one sector, which matters given how health and physical education staffing needs vary across schools. Coursework builds subject-specific pedagogical knowledge in health and physical education alongside general teaching skills, supported by professional experience placements in real school settings throughout the degree. It suits school leavers with a strong interest in sport, physical activity and health education who want to build a teaching career specifically in this subject area rather than a general primary or secondary teaching qualification.
