Monash University, Melbourne, VIC, Australia

About this program

Monash's Bachelor of Education (Honours) in Primary and Secondary Inclusive and Special Education prepares school leavers to teach students with diverse learning needs across both primary and secondary settings, one of seven specialisations under Monash's Bachelor of Education. The course builds specific expertise in inclusive teaching practices and special education strategies, going beyond the general teaching skills covered in Monash's standard education specialisations to address the particular pedagogical approaches needed for students with disabilities or additional learning needs. Professional experience placements in real school settings, including those with dedicated special education programs, run throughout the degree, giving students direct exposure to inclusive and special education practice before graduation. It suits school leavers with a specific interest in supporting students with diverse learning needs, positioning graduates for roles in mainstream inclusive classrooms or dedicated special education settings across both primary and secondary schools.
