Graduate Diploma in Cyber Security and Networking

Murdoch University, Perth, WA, Australia

About this program

The Graduate Diploma in Cyber Security and Networking extends an existing IT-related qualification and work experience. It sits within a staged postgraduate IT structure at Murdoch, where students can complete the Graduate Certificate in Information Technology after one semester before progressing to the Graduate Diploma after a full year of study, with unit choices determining a specialisation in Information Technology Management, Cyber Security and Networking, or Artificial Intelligence and Data Science. Students who continue to the full masters degree can complete it either through coursework alone (48 credit points) or through coursework plus a dissertation (36 credit points of coursework and a 12-credit-point dissertation). ICT security specialist and related cybersecurity roles are assessed by the Australian Computer Society as skilled migration occupations, generally requiring the degree plus one to two years of relevant work experience or a Professional Year in IT, with the 485 graduate visa giving international graduates time to build that experience. This course is delivered by Murdoch University in Western Australia.
