Graduate Diploma in Web Communication

Murdoch University, Perth, WA, Australia

About this program

The Graduate Diploma in Web Communication covers the practical, theoretical, and technical skills used in digital communication, including social media strategy, search engine optimisation, digital content strategy, and web analytics. The project-based course covers the stages of a web communication campaign, from developing digital personae through to pitching ideas to a client, and examines how web communication functions in business, society, and politics. Students plan social media and digital communication campaigns for different target audiences and build skills in web communication strategy, digital platforms, and data analysis. The course has a practical, hands-on focus. Communications and digital media roles are largely absent from Australia's skilled occupation lists, making this a weaker standalone path to permanent residency compared with fields such as IT or engineering. The program is delivered by Murdoch University in Western Australia.
