Master of Contemporary Art

University of Melbourne, Melbourne, VIC, Australia

About this program

The Master of Contemporary Art at the University of Melbourne bridges undergraduate study and independent art practice, developing a professional art practice alongside a deeper understanding of contemporary art. The first year emphasises experimentation and dialogue in an on-campus independent studio, while the second year centres on a year-long studio project culminating in the annual Masters exhibition, with a Graduate Diploma exit point after the first year.
Graduates can continue into a research master's degree, building expert skills in planning and organising their own studio work.
