Undergraduate
Bachelor of Criminal Justice (exit award only)
University of Queensland, Brisbane, QLD, Australia
About this program
The Bachelor of Criminal Justice is an exit award at the University of Queensland rather than a program you apply for directly. It is granted to students enrolled in the Bachelor of Criminology and Criminal Justice (Honours) who complete 48 units of the core and elective coursework in that program but choose, or need, to leave before the dedicated honours research year. The full honours program investigates justice related issues through advanced research methodology and criminology coursework, culminating in an independent thesis, and prepares graduates for policy analysis, intelligence and academic research roles. A student who exits with the Bachelor of Criminal Justice keeps a recognised qualification covering the substantive criminology and criminal justice coursework, which supports entry level roles in community corrections, youth justice, policy support and further study, without the honours thesis or the research credentials that come with completing the full program.
