About this program
The Bachelor of Social Work at the University of Sydney is an internationally recognised four-year degree that qualifies graduates as professional social workers while allowing two years of study in areas such as sociology, diversity studies or gender studies. Core units in sociology and social work are combined with electives from across Arts and Social Sciences, final-year field education placements, and an optional honours thesis.
The course develops reflective, versatile practitioners able to translate professional values into action across a changing field. Graduates work in health services, aged care, disability services, child and family services, migration and refugee services, and policy and advocacy roles.
