Bachelor of Paramedicine
Victoria University, Melbourne, VIC, Australia
About this program
The Bachelor of Paramedicine at Victoria University (VU) in Melbourne is a three-year degree accredited by the Paramedicine Accreditation Committee and approved by the Paramedicine Board of Australia, so graduates can apply for registration as paramedics. Students are registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra) while they study.
Theory is put into practice in high-fidelity simulation clinics and clinical practice labs, then on work placements across different models of care under the supervision of registered paramedics. Placement partners include Ambulance Victoria, which co-locates resources on VU campuses and is a major employer of VU graduates, and the Royal Flying Doctor Service. Students must meet clinical placement safety requirements before starting second year. Students who have completed the Diploma of Emergency Health Care elsewhere may receive up to 48 credit points.
