Bachelor of Accounting

Monash University, Melbourne, VIC, Australia

About this program

The Bachelor of Accounting is Monash's most direct route into the accounting profession, building technical skills in financial accounting, management accounting, corporate finance, taxation and auditing from first year through to more specialised final-year units. Because accounting requires professional judgement as much as technical calculation, the course also builds ethical reasoning and governance principles into the curriculum, reflecting the profession's role in verifying and reporting on an organisation's financial position. The degree blends conceptual theory with practical application throughout, rather than saving real-world context for later years, so graduates leave with both the technical grounding needed for professional accreditation and the analytical skills to interpret what the numbers actually mean for a business. It suits students who know from the outset that they want a career in accounting, audit or financial analysis, whether in public practice, corporate finance teams or government, and the degree's structure supports progression into CA ANZ or CPA Australia membership pathways after graduation.
